Tumblr Vs. Blogspot: THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

So, it's no secret that me and millions of other socially inept people* love tumblr and the internet in general. And it's hard not to... because tumblr is just amazing ok?

One of the best parts about tumblr for me is that you can really see what different people like. My friend Chole is the biggest All Time Low fan and my friend Rachel (who wrote the agnostic guest post) has deep contemplative thoughts.

But... what about Blogspot? (or blogger? Seriously, WHAT IS THE NAME OF THIS WEBSITE??) People said that when Twitter became popular, the death of blogs was imminent. But we proved them wrong (well ok you guys did... when Twitter became cool I was still on Club Penguin).

However now Blogspot has a legitimate opponent... the godly tumblr. Does Blogspot stack up? Or are the two incomparable? THE CHOICE IS YOURS, FOREVER.
from here
So here's a little comparison chart I made on the all mystical Picnik, another cool website for people who don't understand Photoshop when you have to edit pictures in a snap! Oh yeah! adVERT!
Isn't it purty? Look at that fancy editing goin' on! i.e. this took me forever to make. So you better like it. Yes I had to put my url in the corner to take credit for this beautifulness. THIS IS THE INTERNET.

Anyways back to the post....
Tumblr used to be another blog hosting website, but now it's described as "Twitter with pictures" by Facebookians. Instead of being a legitimate blog for most of Tumblr citizens, it's a personalized online smorgasbord of each individual's favorite stuff. You can really get to know somebody through their tumblr.
What do you guys think? Which is better, tumblr or Blogspot? Or are the two incomparable?
*tumblr isn't just for socially inept people; tumblr folks just pride themselves on being awkward. NERD PRIDE!

  1. I have accounts on Blogspot and Tumblr.. I love them both, but I think, I love Blogspot more.. :)Like you've mentioned, it is very hard to get feedback with Tumblr, you rarely get any reactions.. but with Blogger/Blogspot, it's easy.. :)

  2. I think I like blogspot better, you can write on it more as well as sharing loads of pictures like tumblr. I've never tried tumblr, but it still sounds fun blogging with loads of pictures, and there seems to be more space on blogs and nice template designs. btw, I like the picture in the post. :)

  3. I prefer tumblr. I think Tumblrs more accepting in general. And I love how it's less formal. Sometimes Blogger annoys me with all it's expectations. It's also easier to find people with similar interests to you.

  5. I love them both! I prefer Tumblr for pictures, but Blogger/Blogspot is better for actually writing :)

  6. I have a Tumblr account but I don't like it as much. For me, you don't get the same effect on writing a blog than tumblr. More people post pictures rather than words and for a book blogger like moi, slight problem. Also, if you're going to write something you want people to read, then like you said in your AMAZING PICTURE (I actually really enjoyed it and it was well done), then Blogger is the way to go. I know I would rather go on a published blog than Tumblr. TUMBLR IS NOT A BLOG, IT IS WHERE YOU CAN JUST POST PICTURES MOST OF THE TIME. URGH.

Anyway, it's Blogger by the way :)

  7. I made a tumblr and have never used it. I like Blogger way better. My style of blogging just fits here better. I like the design options, even though they are a bitch to figure out, and I like the communication. I agree that tumblr is better for just posting pics of stuff.

  9. I think it's impossible to compare the two! I'm not on Tumblr but I love reading it sometimes. I think it kind of is Twitter with pictures though. Sorry. :)

  10. I kind of don't compare blogger and twitter...I feel like people who call their tumblrs "blogs" are wrong! Tumblr is for beautiful graphics and funny pictures and blogger is for deep thoughts and daily experiences :) whole 'nother thing!!

  15. I just got a Tumblr, and I'm finding it kind of confusing. Mainly I just post photos/quotes and song lyrics for exercise inspiration, but I find Blogger is more interactive. You can actually comment on what people say for their posts.

  17. never been on tumblr. one of my friends has a blog there but it's all pretentious pictures, some of which really really freak me out... but anyway. i'm afraid it's more public than this. or less public. wait, that doesn't make sense. argh. nevermind.

i was on club penguin until they banned me for no reason at all forever and wouldn't tell me why unless my parents called their tipline. that site is really stupid now, in my opinion. i mean, sure, i had a few rants about how membership was a scam.... but ban me? eesh.

    sorry about that rant. anyway.
SO I'LL SAY: blogspot is better.

  18. MODERN SMALL KITCHEN DESIGNS
Whether your kitchen is small? Do you have any problems with your kitchen design? You need to know a small kitchen can be a beautiful kitchen. Do you know how? It is very easy that is by using the concept of modern kitchen designs. This concept is one concept that is perfect for smaller kitchens. Excess is the modern concept of kitchen designs maximize every room and your kitchen more minimalist design. My recommendation, use a smaller kitchen appliances and multi-functionality.

  19. I support team blogger.

Tumblr has become a place for re-blogging instead of people posting their experiences and opinions.

  20. Personally I love Tumblr so much it's bordering on obsession... hahaha but in blogspot I can write personally, only to myself, and those in a world far different than mine. Both of them help me express myself to the point where I admit things about myself when I hadn't even realized it before! Well I love both so I just realized explaining each got me no where... ANYWAY! I just started following your blog and I really love it<3 I hope you can check mine out too!
